Ceremonial Practice

WELCOME: On this page I offer instructions to the owners of my Tepati Treasures sacred wands and/or rattles that were created to connect YOU with Universal Light and the energy of our cosmic Universe. It is my belief. that preparing for a meditation journey is a personal choice that can be either very simple or complex. The choices always depend on one’s personal beliefs and intentions. Hence, I recommend the owner of the sacred object will chose to engage in ritual/practice that can help guide their mediation journey.

As an indigenous Universal Life Force Mexica Tepati (energy healer), I create unique one-of-a-kind ceremonial wands and/or rattles that are hand-made and inspired by my Yaqui healing practices. Each sacred assemblage was created from natural elements & found objects gathered from local deserts, washes and river bottoms.

We begin by setting up a sacred space to clear away negative influences and to remove any possibility of distractions

To maintain the integrity of their healing powers they have been blessed & smudged with native desert white sage and I used my mediumship (as an energy healer & reiki master) during a full moon fire ceremony to set the healing intentions for their use in healing the mind/body/spirit.

Giving value and importance to setting up a sacred space is a very important aspect in ceremonial practice. This process helps us to define a relationship between connecting the empowered tools we will use to bridge our sense of being with the cosmos. In turn, this is how we can heal, by expanding our energy field.

Another word for a sacred space is “mesa”. Your mesa becomes the transformative space for connection and support. I refer to this as an altar that is devoted to the natural world and to one’s self. In an effort to create a unique expression of YOU – I encourage adding objects that connect you with nature, the cosmos and your guides/ancestors/spirit animals/archangels etc to represent the relationship to between the elements, your natural world and yourself.

Here are a few suggestions:

I typically begin by placing objects on a cloth. This is not necessary step but I find it becomes a meaningful collection of special “gifts” that remind me to offer gratitude to my creator, archangels, ascendant Masters, spirit guides and the Universe for my existence.

1. cloth. can be of any size, mine are typically less than 2’x3′
2. abolone shell. used to hold the sacred smoke (like sage, palo santo, copalli resign, charcoal)
3. feather. used for smudging and it represents the element of air
4. candle(s). used to represent the element of fire
5. water. fill a small container with water to represent the sacred water element
6. earth. can be in any form like a rock, a small container with sand/earth/pebbles to represent the element of earth, can also be a plant or cut flower
7. salt. place a small container of salt on an altar as a reference to the symbolic role in purification, protection and grounding. In some cultures, salt is believed to absorb negative energies and is often times used to create a sacred space for spiritual work – I always include salt on my altars.

A few suggestions for setting up your sacred space.

  1. Space. Choose a place indoors or outdoors free of distraction, where you feel comfortable and at ease. Keep the lighting soft.
The intention for this space is to connect with our Beloved Mother Nature, Father Sky and the Cardinal 4 Direction (North, South, East & West) so that we have direct access to the cosmos and to the elements in nature (Earth, Air, Fire, Water).
  2. Senses. Consider engaging all five senses (sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch). Chocolate is a favored item to satisfy taste. Faith is also considered a sense that is used for intention setting.
  3. Cleansing. Using sacred smoke plant medicine like white sage or palo santo to smudge, clear and cleanse where you will be meditating prior to your journey. If you are indoors be sure to smudge your space and make sure you have a door or window open to allow the smoke to clear away.
  4. Fire. Light a candle or candles to connect to the spirit of Universal Life Force energy. Use a feather to direct the spirit of the fire element towards you and or away from you as you burn your sacred smoke like sage, palo santo and I also enjoy using white copal resign.
  5. Sound. If you enjoy listening to music I recommend a few songs that I have listed below.

Chorus:
Pachamama, I’m coming home
To the place where I belong (2x)

Verse I.
I am free, so free
Like a flower and a bee
Like a bird up in a trees
I fly high, so high
Like an eagle in the sky
and when my time has come
I’m gonna lay down and die
and when my time has come
I’m gonna rise up and fly
==repeat Chorus

Verse II.
I am free/ to be me
Be the being that I see
Not to rise and not to fall
Being one and loving all
There is no high/ no low
There is nowhere else to go
Except inside a little star
Saying, be just who you are.
Inside a shining star
Saying, be just who you are.
==repeat Chorus

Grandmother I am the Earth song by Ayala Schafer

Lyrics (note – long intro before the lyrics begin)

Grandmother speak to me, I am the Earth and the Earth is singing
The water flows around this rock, the ancient ways I carry forth
The river carries me
Grandmother speak to me, I am the Earth and the Earth is singing
The water flows around this rock, the ancient ways I carry forth
The river carries me
I am the Earth and the Earth is singing through me
I am the Earth and the Earth is breathing through me
I am the Earth and the Earth is feeling through me
I am the Earth and the Earth is healing through me
The Earth is healing with me
I welcome it all, I welcome all these feelings
I welcome it all, I welcome all these teachings
I welcome it all, I welcome this healing
I welcome it all, I welcome all that
Life brings, all that life brings
A wey ya wey ya ho
All these teachings that this life brings
A wey ya wey ya ho
We are healing, We are healing
We are healing, We are healing
We are healing with the Earth
We are healing with the Earth
